Installation at Shenyang Conservatory of Music, China
Mpos in SYCM Concert Hall

The first Mpos module sold overseas went all the way to Shenyang in northeastern China. The large music conservatory there has decided to have installed a Rodgers digital organ, augmented by an Mpos pipe module. The standard module size has been added to, to include a full 8' Open Diapason, with the bottom octave in the equivalent of pedal towers. This organ had to fill the large and recently refurbished concert hall and successfully enable the Conservatory to meet their aim "to make even greater contributions to the cause of Chinese art, and music, and dance education".

With a dedicated team to install the organ the various problems of installing an instrument were overcome and within 2 weeks the hall had an instrument capable of filling the 800 seat hall and accompanying a full orchestra. The installation included adjusting the wind pressure and voicing to give the best effect within the hall. The Rodgers digital organ was then voiced using a traditional pipe voicing technique such that the instrument sounds as a coherent whole.

As we have been told that this is the first pipe organ in North Eastern China we hope that the combination of the Mpos module with the Rodgers digital organ will expose an entirely new culture and a generation of students to the delight of the pipe organ.
